Minecraft Weekend Hackathons
The next generation of students are no longer being told what to learn but asked what they wish to change. We partner with local tech companies to launch “Minecraft Hackathons” in which children learn the foundations of computer science and how to code inside of their favorite Minecraft game – instead of just playing. These weekend coding programs, in a hackathon style format, teach children coding concepts and then compete in teams in a Build Challenge to win a prize. Our competitive format lets children see how their Minecraft skills stack up against their peers. Our panel of judges have professional programming experience and will evaluate each project based on a variety of different scoring criteria.
